Our second location was closer to Karnes City on RT 99. Guess what... more cattle. But we also had several other visitors. These are sand hill cranes. The land owner told us they come and eat the oat grass that he plants for his cattle.
This billy goat named Buddy escaped from a nearby farm and spent the day mooching celery. He kept trying to go into the RV.... poor Sydney didn't know what to do. He was finally picked up by his owners. Did you ever try to get a billy goat in the back of a pick up truck? What a treat.
While we were at this site John had another birthday. While he was sleeping I put this sign in the window. Everyone coming in wished him a Happy Birthday. It was a few hours before he saw the sign and realized what was going on.
Our third site County Road 341, and where we currently are, is the furthest site from a town yet. We are 20 miles from the nearest town...Jourdanton... but we have neighbors. Our gate is right beside the gate of another oil company. What a treat..another female to talk to!! AND....MORE CATTLE.
And a burro... he's sooooo cute!
Our original neighbors Tom and Joanie left yesterday and new ones Ross and Caroline arrived. They are from Idaho. John is anxious to talk to them about places to go and things to see in that area.
I made an Easter Nest of eggs and candy for the rig guys. We had a catered dinner of rib eye steak and shrimp.....yum.
HAPPY EASTER ALL!!!!
